General Terms

  • As the owner or guardian of the animal boarding, attending daycare, or being groomed at Courteous Canine, I give permission for my pet to be referred to their Veterinarian should the need arise.
  • Should injury or circumstance warrant the need for medical care, I understand I will incur the cost of all medical attention provided for my pet.
  • Courteous Canine agrees to provide services stated in this agreement in a reliable, caring and trustworthy manner. In consideration of the services as an express condition thereof, the client expressly waives and relinquishes any and all claims against the company and its employees, including those arising from negligence.
  • Client agrees to notify Courteous Canine of any concerns within 24 hours of their return.
  • This agreement is valid from the date signed(agreed to), and replaces any prior legal considerations or agreements.
  • The client agrees to any future Courteous Canine service term changes relayed in writing to the client, mailed or emailed or posted on our website under the heading Terms.
  • Courteous Canine considers communications with their clients privileged.
  • In consideration for client’s pet being accepted for boarding, Day Care or Spa services with Courteous Canine, client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Courteous Canine, its employees or training instructors against any and all claims or actions that may at any time be made or instituted against them by any person for the purpose of enforcing any cause of action growing out of or connected with client’s attendance or client’s dog’s attendance at Courteous Canine.
  • Any claim arising out of or relating to this contract or the breach thereof shall be settled by arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.
  • Courteous Canine will not care for acutely ill animals or those with uncontrolled medical conditions. Certain medical conditions may also be referred to a veterinarian for boarding. Pets infected with ringworm will not be admitted since they are highly contagious diseases.
  • Any known behavioral and/or aggression problems must be communicated to Courteous Canine management.
  • The Client is solely responsible for any harm caused by their pet to any employees, other pets/owners, or property.
  • Courteous Canine does provide food, bowls, and bedding. However, if client decides to provide their own, Courteous Canine is not responsible for those items. Any items provide by client must be labeled with their pet’s name, including all medications.
  • Courteous Canine cannot accommodate dangerous animals.
  • Courteous Canine employees will not walk unruly or untrained dogs or dogs that choke themselves on their leash.
  • All dogs must be accompanied by a leash.
  • Courteous Canine reserves the right to deny service or terminate service because of safety concerns, financial concerns, or inappropriate or uncomfortable situations.
  • If client’s pet is not picked up, or Courteous Canine is not notified, within 3 days after the agreed departure date then Courteous Canine will consider the pet abandoned and make the necessary arrangements to re-home the animal as it deems fit.
  • Photographs, videotape or digital recordings are taken of Courteous Canine clients, customers and staff on a regular basis for, among other things, use in advertising by Courteous Canine. I acknowledge that all such images (electronic, negatives and positives), together with prints and the copyrights therein, are the property of Courteous Canine. I give Courteous Canine and persons authorized by Courteous Canine my consent, permission and authorization, without compensation to me, to use, reproduce and alter the images, in print or electronic format (including on the internet), either alone or in combination with other images, text and graphics. I waive my right to approve the finished photograph, advertising copy, print material or electronic files that may be used in conjunction with the images. I represent that I am at least 18 years of age and acknowledge that the rights granted in this paragraph are irrevocable, worldwide and perpetual, and are binding on my heirs, successors and assigns.
  • I understand that if I choose to pick up my pet outside of Courteous Canine business hours, I will incur an additional charge and may experience a delay in the check out process.

Health and Wellness

  • You will receive reminders when vaccinations are due. It is your responsibility to provide on-going verification of current vaccinations.
  • All pets must have a veterinarian and must be current with vaccinations; The required dog vaccinations are DHLPP and Rabies, Lepto and the H3N2 canine flu vaccine. We require Bordetella vaccinations every 6 months and 5 days prior to the pets arrival date. Clients must provide the vaccination records prior to arrival. If vaccination records are provided at arrival and the vaccination requirement is not met then the pet will be referred to our on-site Animal Hospital
  • Dogs must be on a monthly Heart Worm treatment and be free of all internal parasites.
  • All pets must be treated with a flea and tick product.
  • If fleas are found on client’s pet, a flea treatment will be administered to the pet at a cost to the owner.
  • Courteous Canine does not diagnose, or make therapy decisions. Any veterinary/medical concerns will be referred to our veterinarian.

Payment & Cancellation Policy:

  • Courteous Canine accepts checks, cash and major credit cards as payment
  • There will be a $35.00 service charge for each returned check.
  • Payment is required to confirm and hold a pet boarding reservation.

Refund Policy

  1. Courteous Canine, Inc. DogSmith of Tampa does not offer refunds. If you need to cancel your registration then we can apply your credit to another course or service. If you want a credit for a service we need at least three days notice prior to the start date of the service.
  2. If you receive a credit for a service, it will be good for up to one year.
  3. All services are prepaid. If you have any questions about a service, please make sure to call us at 813-949-1465 or email us at info@courteouscanine.com so we can address these before you reserve your spot.
  4. Once a client has attended the first session of a group class or the class has started, *NO* refunds will be issued.
  5. We advise clients to only sign up for classes that fit their schedules and lifestyle as we will not be able to refund clients who decide to drop out after the first group class or later group classes.

Future Services:

  • By entering into this contract, the client authorizes this contract to be valid approval for services so as to permit Courteous Canine to accept all future telephone, online, mail or email reservations.
  • Courteous Caninet reserves the right to terminate this contract at any time if Courteous Canine, in its sole discretion determines that the owner’s pet poses a danger to its own health or safety, other pets, other people, or a Pet Care Technician. If concerns prohibit Courteous Canine from caring for the pet, the owner authorizes the pet to be placed in a suitable environment (or previously arranged locale), with all charges (including but not limited to transportation, kenneling, tranquilizing, treating, accessing, and liability) to be the responsibility of the pet owner.
Cancellation Policy
  1. Appointment cancellations require 48 hour notice to be given a credit.
  2. Appointments cancelled less than 24 hours in advance will be charged a no show/late cancellation fee of $20

Future Services:

  • By entering into this contract, the client authorizes this contract to be valid approval for services so as to permit Courteous Canine to accept all future telephone, online, mail or email reservations.
  • Courteous Caninet reserves the right to terminate this contract at any time if Courteous Canine, in its sole discretion determines that the owner’s pet poses a danger to its own health or safety, other pets, other people, or a Pet Care Technician. If concerns prohibit Courteous Canine from caring for the pet, the owner authorizes the pet to be placed in a suitable environment (or previously arranged locale), with all charges (including but not limited to transportation, kenneling, tranquilizing, treating, accessing, and liability) to be the responsibility of the pet owner.
