Whether your dog is barking, lunging, aggressive with dogs and or people, we are here to help with training classes for aggressive dogs. We are committed to coaching you using scientifically proven, dog-friendly methods to not simply band-aid an underlying issue by temporarily forcing your dog to hide the undesired behavior.

We work with dogs of any age from puppies to mature adult dogs with training classes for aggressive dogs. Your problem becomes our problem and together we find solutions. My Dog Has Issues: Level 1
Before joining this class, you must complete an average of 2-4 hours of behavior consults and receive instructor approval. To register you must obtain the registration code from the instructor.
Problem behaviors with dogs can come in many forms. Dogs may be easily distracted, they might have difficulty around other dogs, or they may behave inappropriately with other people. In many cases, problem behaviors occur because the dog is reactive, shy, fearful or unfocused. This class can help.
Based on the principals in the book Control Unleashed by Leslie McDevitt, this class helps reactive dogs learn to calm, shy dogs to gain confidence and fearful dogs to be courageous. Most of our clients report a 50-75% improvement regarding the problem behavior after just six weeks of class.
The class is given in a group setting, with a maximum of four dogs. The class term is 6 weeks, 1 hour-long class per week.
My Dog Has Issues: Level 2
Before joining this class, you must complete an average of 2-4 hours of behavior consults and receive instructor approval. To register you must obtain the registration code from the instructor.
Now that you’ve learned the foundations for modifying your dog’s problem behaviors in the Level 1 class, you’re really ready to focus on key behaviors. My Dog Has Issues: Level 2 builds on the techniques learned in level one and offers additional customized instruction for your dog’s specific issues.
In order to qualify for this class, you must have completed My Dog Has Issues Level one group class or private instruction and instructor approval required prior to joining class.
The class is given in a group setting, with a maximum of four dogs. The class term is 6 weeks, 1 hour-long class per week.
Having had first-hand experience with Courteous Canine, Inc. of Tampa’s methods while attending their Control Unleashed course with my own very fearful and reactive dog, it has not only helped me and my pet, but has given me so much insight to help patients and clients with similar issues. The positive approach to training and tips to avoiding negative triggers puts both dog and at ease and sets them up for success. I feel very fortunate to have Courteous Canine, Inc of Tampa as a resource to help my clients that have pets with problem behaviors, as well as anxiety and fear issues.
RAIN POLICY
For private training and group instruction that is held outdoors, we will make every attempt to contact students at least two hours before if we are canceling class. Classes are held during light rain, if there is lightning classes are cancelled. If you see lightning during your class, please let your instructor know immediately.
If you don’t hear from your instructor, your class will occur as scheduled.
VACCINE POLICY
To participate in class, your dog must have received:
- Distemper/Parvo (core combination)
- Leptospirosis
- Rabies
- Bordetella
- Canine Influenza
If your dog is not eligible for these vaccines, we will also accept a letter of exemption from your veterinarian due to your dog’s age or medical status.
