Loralei Nistal, NAPWDA Certified

Loralei worked as a professional trainer and zookeeper at Busch Gardens for 32 years. She trained kangaroos, serval cats, lamas, parrots, primates, cuscus, sloths, southern ground hornbills and a skunk. Loralei did a traveling bird show for a couple of years. Loralei parents Buffy, a long haired black and tan German Shepherd Dog, who has been certified for the past five years through NNDDA and the last two years with NAPWDA as a human remains detection dog. Human remains detection dogs find dead bodies to give people closure. Buffy retired in 2008 because of health problems. After spending a week in the 9th ward after hurricane Katrina. Loralei's second dog is Spike, a sable German Shepherd Dog, who has been certified at nine months through NNDDA and the last two years through NAPWDA also as a human remains detection dog. Loralei has a special interest in scent training, trick training and assistance dog training. Loralei is called on for Search and Rescue work by law enforcement in the state of Florida and Georgia. Loralei is the Director of Bay Area Recovery K-9s www.BARKSAR.org.
